Peacetime is over, War is on the horizon
I was reading a storybook to my boys: “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” This story had a bunch of men coming to the rescue of the shepherd boy with their spears, guns and swords. My wife does her annoying commentary… “tut tut… violence…”.
This stirred my otherwise calmly attitude and I retorted, “In case you haven’t noticed, peacetime is over. My boys will have to be taught how to defend themselves. So when the wars reach our shores, you want my boys to just drop dead without a fight?”
You heard that right folks. You all just keep praying the empire and the rebels have no interest in invading or bombing our peaceful little archipelago. Maybe it is a blessing after all that oil sites are under-explored. We only have one tiny gas field called Malampaya.
Malaysia? Now there is a country the empire might be interested in. Rich in oil and gas fields especially in our disputed area of Sabah. The empire and its minions can easily snap up Malaysia with only 25 million people. A very easy target.
You say we have mines in the Philippines? The empire and its minions is already raping us for a share of only 2% of the revenue from our mines… by law!
Back to my families and yours, survival strategy thinking time folks. If the cities get bombed, make sure your provincial farms and lands have enough to sustain your families. And you are organized and armed enough to defend your land, your territory, your crops and livestock.
War survival mode: Women stick to making, raising children and cooking food. Men stick to defending and strategizing on the supply of food.
