Why i have a one track pronatal mind
Why does everything I say have to come out pronatal? I consciously try to make people around me realize how they are automatically ANTI-NATAL!
We were having dinner with my in laws and a japanese fruit importer. My in laws bemoan the Philippine population growth rate and seem envious of the Japanese aging society. Stuff that! Why envy a dying people?
In any case I pointed out to the folks that the Japanese market is immensely larger than the Philippine market with some 127 million Japanese compared to only 85 million Filipinos.
People around me do not realize they spout out mathematically incorrect superstition.
Then there are the destined to be single and barren who live with us and work with us. Be careful. They stick around too long with your children, they start promoting their forever single and childless ideals. They are the aunts, uncles, nannies and household help.
Then there are the magazines, television; the competition is tough. I as a parent I must be tough. Tough enough to command a greater influence on my children. So what if I endorse 100 babies for each of my boys? If a son winds up with just 2 wives and 8 children, at least I did my part to stave off the contraceptive extinction awaiting the fates of their contemporaries.
