Migrating to a place with no future
Our neighbor had a children’s party. We were there of course and I got to talking to my wife later in the evening about her childhood playmates. I found out that already two sisters there had migrated to Canada as nurses. But they have no children and plan not to have children there because it is expensive.
Then there is a brother with 3 children here in Manila who will be migrating to that same area in Canada soon.
Whaaaat??? Something is wrong with this picture. So the herd of horses want to fall of a cliff. Or is it something like a herd of whales beaching themselves to death?
I reviewed the film Aeon Flux last February 2006. Their problem was that their human race could only survive for 1 generation, the current living generation; they could not physiologically reproduce.
The reasons some people migrate are dumb. They migrate to a place where they numerically make “more money” in pesos converted from Dollars, Dinars or Euros. Yet at the same time they find the true adjusted cost of raising children to be astronomically higher. These migrants to a so-called-better-place sacrifice the possibility of giving birth to future children (they contracept) because they cannot afford as many children in the new place they migrate to than their existing place. In this case, the brother already has 2 sisters living in a place where both are married but cannot afford to have children they have contracepted themselves to oblivion. And this brother wants to follow his sisters to that same horrid place.
My query is: Why migrate to a place where you will be more miserable? Why migrate to a place where raising children is so much harder and more expensive? Why migrate to a place where the sacrifice of children leads you to ZERO reproduction? Why migrate to a place where you commit your own blood line’s suicide?
I have nothing against migration. People have been migrating world wide since humans started marching out of Africa. My beef is for those less informed idiot herd animals to at least educate yourself and calculate before deciding on your quest.
I am pretty sure there are places where the grass is truly greener than where you are right now. Go to those truly greener pastures.
My family lifestyle today is such that we have 1 driver, 3 nannies, 1 full time cook, a big garden, living beside my in laws and near other brothers and sisters and many nephews, my office is 500 meters from my house, we have healthy food sources, our children are studying in a school we think is the best, we enjoy 2 day weekends, and we can afford more children.
Now if we were to migrate somewhere, I’d be looking for something better than the above. Maybe a place where I can raise 4 wives and 20 children? Now that is a goal.
