In the Non-Islamic cultures of the Philippines, government laws state that we fall under their forced monogamous system.
I know of many Filipino family who through several generations have shown that 100% of all its male members have either extra wives with children, mistresses with children, have extra children with other women. This means grandfathers, fathers and sons… none can comply with the demands of forced monogamy. Maybe it is because they are smart, handsome, and desireable women from all around demand their sperm donations, they are the ones pursued by women. These women cared not, nor respected forced monogamy laws. These are the family’s grandmothers, mothers, and daughters. They saw the sperm donor they wanted and got their genetic material by hook or by crook.
As you can see, the myopic stereotype that polygamy tendencies are a male-only fantasy is FALSE. It takes both MEN and many more WOMEN women as shown in the example family above. If the laws of the land allowed polygamy, this would have served these families better.

The Doctors strongly prohibited Russian woman Lilya Shevchik to bear babies, but at the age of 35 the woman already has 13 healthy children and plans to have even more. Now when Lilya’s happy children crowd together around her it makes her smile when she recollects how a gynecologist studied the results of her tests and stated that bearing babies would be lethal for her life. The woman came to the doctor soon after her marriage as her decision was to have many children in the family. Being herself a child from a family with eleven children Lilya could not imagine her life without babies. Her husband Vladimir also came from a family having ten children and did not mind to have many children either. So, in spite of the doctor’s prohibition and warning the woman decided to make an attempt and have babies.

From Pravda by Stojgniev O’Donnell April 2006
Russian Christians now admit that the concept of human rights and liberties as advocated by America and the West has no application in contemporary Russia . That country is drowning in vices directly linked to the West’s concept of inherent rights and liberties: abortion; homosexuality; dissolution of traditional marriage; pornography; slavery, prostitution, and exploitation of the oppressed, etc. The Russian Orthodox now understand that such American ‘values’ are, in fact, vices which harm every human society as a collective. Such American ‘rights’ have not brought happiness. They represent the deviance of the cult of the individual. From my Third World perspective, I am amazed that some Americans continue to argue that America’s virtue is that it protects such ‘rights’ (=vices).
Nice critique, but I don’t see the Russians fairing any better in the abortion department, wholesale contraception and a depopulation rate of 1 million people net less per year.

Sorry for the interruption in my blogging. My brother is sick and needs my attention. I’m the family healer you see. In fact, I’m the only family my brother can count on right now. Our parents abroad, a sister abroad, another sister in the far province… we are decimated.
Good thing my brother’s girlfriend lives in the house next door. Good that she has four other siblings with her. There is power in numbers. Someone to send him to the hospital, someone take care of his needs, someone watch over him. You can’t really trust a patient with just the hospital nurses and doctors. It is unheard off in our country. A rational family member must be there to assist the patient in making important decisions in his healing. I’m glad I’m here to help.
My children deserve better than decimation. They need company. They need fellow siblings they can count on. A large family is a dependable support system. A small family is fragile. You can choose your friends, but not your blood relatives… but your blood relatives will always be your blood relatives, no matter what.
